Abstract

Two cases of benign cementoblastoma (BC) are presented. We consider that BC is an unfrequent entity, that particularly affects young patients. The most frequently affected area is the maxillary molar-premolar region. Pain, expansion and radiographic radiopacity surrounded by a peripheral radiolucent halo are most striking features. Histologically the tumor is composed of cementum like-material with reversal lines giving a pagetoid appearence. In the peripheral area one may find numerous cementoblasts and cementoclast. The treatment of choice is the surgical enucleation.
