Abstract

A comprehensive solution is proposed to enhance adherence for the mild and moderate Alzheimer patients, involving not only the patient but also other participants, such as the nurse and/or relative, the drugstore, the physician and the hospital. The solution includes the development of an automatic medication dispenser and the corresponding software applications. In this article a general schema of the solution is presented, and a brief description of the first hardware and software prototypes is also included. © Springer International Publishing 2013.
