Abstract

This article is the result of several years of author’s work in the field of quality management especially in the use of methods and tools for quality management. I have paid special attention to the research of a unique and understandable concept of continuous progress - Kaizen. What is Kaizen? Kaizen is a combination of two Japanese words KAI and ZEN. Compound KAIZEN (Japanese 改善) which means “always good” or “continuous improvement”. This article provides proposal a set of approaches that are the basis for the development and application of the principles and Kaizen of Lean Six Sigma concepts. A special focus is given to the method of applying Lean Six Sigma concepts in specific working conditions of domestic company from wood-processing sector.
