Abstract

The development of air transport system has increased the importance of transport demands. By purchasing the air transport service, passengers choose carriers who shall meet specific, tailor-made expectations. For passengers, convenient hours of flight operations constitute one of the factors which determine the choice of transport service, whereas for the carrier, it is an important element of air transport management system. Such assumptions provide grounds for conducting analysis on the impact of how time zones of flight operations on the choice of particular carrier. This aim became grounds for research regarding factors affecting the decision making process related to choosing a particular carrier. The results of research conducted by personal interviews with passengers representing various travel segments, regarding passenger preferences constitute grounds for defining the transport service offer. However, in air transport there are some limitations-slots which must be respected by all carriers since they introduce a certain order in the world air transport system. The conducted research and analyses have proved that the times of flight operations and destinations affect the decision on air travel.
