Abstract

Performance by municipal tree maintenance crews represents a concern for the urban forest manager seeking to optimize service to the public. Computers can assist if job performance standards are incorporated into tree inventory software. Collection of accurate field data is critical if valid conclusions are to be drawn. Likewise, work statistics must be presented in a manner easily understood by all concerned. Suggestions regarding the use of published municipal tree maintenance standards are discussed in this report. It highlights areas of data collection, presentation and workload forecasting.
