Abstract

This chapter is present for the optimization of process parameters of CNC turning on aluminium alloy AA6262 T6. In this paper, the grey relational analysis (GRA) and Taguchi method is used as an optimization tool for finding the best suitable machining parameter. The selection of the specific methodology has been selected according to the nature of the material (AA6262 T6 which is not commonly used in such research work) used in this study. In this work, three machining parameters with three levels have been selected naming feed (mm/rev), speed (RPM) and DOC (mm), and the effect of these parameters, material removal rate (MRR) and surface roughness (SR) are predicted. Prediction of GRA shows the noteworthy increment of 9.628 in material removal rate (MRR) and a noteworthy reduction of 1.078 in surface roughness.
