Abstract

Polyaniline doped by [EtOHMIM+] ionic liquid as solvent PANI (ES) was synthesized by chemical polymerization method using ammonium persulphate as oxidizing agent. An entirely approach has been to made heterojunctions by evaporation vacuum method of PANI (EB & ES) onto n-type (ZnO, Cds) thin films. I-V characteristics of these junctions were studies at room temperature 303 K by using Keithley electrometer 6517 A. High rectifying ratio and low ideality factor of these junctions shows in results are comparable with those reported for inorganic semiconductors junctions. The efficiency of these heterojunctions in the photovoltaic properties were studied in the dark and under illumination indicates that the Ag/Cds - ES /Al may be preferred over the Ag/ZnO - ES/Al heterojunctions solar cell which was found to deliver short circuit current density Jsc = 200 μA/cm2, open circuit voltage Voc = 400 mV, and solar cell efficiency η = 3.8% under AM 1.5 simulated solar light with the intensity of 100 mW/cm2.
