Abstract

Handwritten to Digital Text Conversion Tool is designed using digital image processing technique to make data conversion (hand written scanned paper document to digital document) an easy and cost effective method using MATLAB. The input handwritten text is scanned and its Digital image form is obtained. The image is handled with the help of Enhancement techniques, segmentation, image recognition and neural network with an ultimatum of achieving higher efficiency. The Recognition system is designed along with the multilayer feed forward neural network, so that higher level of efficiency is obtained for the cursive handwriting recognition. The flexibility of this design allows it to extend to other languages easily. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2010.
