Abstract

The patented Vac-Q-Roof vacuum roofing system and its resistance to high winds are discussed. The system uses DuPont Hypalon synthetic rubber. Simple turbine vents, activated by wind, produce negative pressure which sucks the membrane to the roof deck. The success of the system in withstanding high winds and even earthquakes is described.
