Abstract

The workforce is getting older. This is not simply a matter of the workforce aging as the population ages. The relative workforce participation of older Americans has risen steadily over the past decade. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that the workforce participation rate of workers in the over-55 age group will continue to increase, pushing back the retirement age. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.
