Abstract

This paper, firstly, develops the BrainHex player profiles into a more robust set, enriched by the psychological charateristics of the MBTI system. The characteristics of each one of the seven profiles was directly compared and contrasted with the characteristics of each one of the sixteen personality types. Those that have more in commom were grouped toghether, resulting in what has been called "expanded profiles". Secondly, the most relevant emotions in games are related to the expanded profiles, evidencing which one have more influence over each one of the seven expanded profiles. The result is a complex tool that can be used by developers to get aquinted with their costumers, and also to design better user experience for players and, consequently, more apealing games. © 2014 Springer International Publishing Switzerland.
