Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) systems are used in all types of organizations. Many vendors are providing ERP software. The aim of ERP system is to reduce the costs and increase the benefits in terms of increased revenues and sales. However, all ERP implementations are found to be costly as compared to benefits gained from it. Also the costs in using the ERP creep up from time to time . This paper highlights the relation between main contributors of costs in ERP systems which include architecture, implementation, integration, maintenance, training and vendor consultation and provides ways to reduce these.
