Abstract

A high-gain stacked Minkowski fractal patch antenna with superstrate and H-shaped aperture coupling for 60GHz communication is proposed.A superstrate is added above the ground plane in order to increase the gain. The maximum simulated gain of the antenna with superstrate reaches 14.1dBi at 60GHz and is more than 10dBi all over the 60GHz band(from 57GHz to 64GHz). It is noted that by stacking the antenna and using H-shaped aperture coupling the bandwidth can be increased up to 9.7% (56.4GHz-62.1GHz) which of the conventional Minkowski fractal patch antenna is only 3%. © 2012 Springer-Verlag GmbH Berlin Heidelberg.
