Abstract

In Smart Grid a customer’s privacy is threatened by the fact that an attacker could deduce personal habits from the detailed consumption data. We analysed the publications in this field of research and found out that privacy does not seem to be the main focus. To verify this guess, we analysed it with the technique of directed graphs. This indicates that privacy isn’t yet sufficiently investigated in the Smart Grid context. Hence we suggest a decentralised IDS based on NILM technology to protect customer’s privacy. Thereby we would like to initiate a discussion about this idea.
