This book introduces the basic concepts of hydrodynamics and the study of water waves. Part 1 deals with the basic equations governing flow motion and indicates possible approximations; Part 2 covers general methods of integration and the mathematical treatment of these basic equations; Part 3 is concerned specifically with water wave theories.
