Abstract

Anemia in the newborn is a common problem faced by neonatologists. Depending on the degree of anemia and the gestation of the babies, they are treated with either blood transfusion or with hematinics as the case may be. There is growing emphasis on delayed cord clamping, to decrease the use of blood transfusions and improving the micro-nutrients of babies to reduce anemia in newborn. This article focuses on some of these aspects in modern times.
