Abstract

The 3D numerical simulation and flow analysis of G4-73 No. 8D centrifugal impeller are carried with NUMECA in order to investigate the internal flow field of fans. The research shows that the jets-wake flows, which reduce the fan's performance, exist in the outlet of centrifugal impeller. The numerical simulation of fan added splitter blades is adopted to weaken the jet-wake flow structure, and optimized parameters of splitter blades which are defined according to the improvement of flow field in centrifugal fans. And then, the results of performance experiment indicate that the total pressure increases obviously, the efficiency of total pressure increases on the standard running conditions and the high effect area of the improved fans broadens in a narrow range.
