Abstract

Understanding friction and reaction forces involved in Alpine Skiing is of great theoretical importance for sport science. We have developed a method to analyze a skier's motion during a downhill race from video data taken by a single camera. This may help to compare the technical equipment and the skills of different skiers. © 2006 Springer-Verlag New York.
