Complications of minimally invasive thyroidectomy

Abstract

In recent years, minimally invasive thyroid (MIT) surgery has become a well-recognized adjunct to the traditional standard cervicotomy for thyroid diseases. It has been postulated that this procedure potentially could achieve the same results as those obtained with traditional surgery in the setting of less trauma, earlier hospital discharges, less postoperative pain, and better cosmetic results.
