Abstract

We assess if changes in corporate environmentalism in the Dutch chemical industry occur as predicted by Ecological Modernization Theory (EMT). Using a novel processual methodology to analyse the sector as multiple strategic action fields we find mixed support for EMT and theorize about interacting strategic action fields.
