Abstract

Results of long-term monitoring researches of physical and chemical properties of Holocene silts of Kandalaksha Bay of the White Sea are considered. On the basis of the comprehensive analysis of a ratio of the sizes We (water content), W1 (liquid limit) and Corg (content of organic matter) on depth of a continuous sequence of sea organo-mineral soil the conclusion about existence of nine stages in natural system a deposit-silt-fluid clay is made. The transition boundary sedimentgenesis-diagenesis (silt is offered-fluid clay) is to be determined by We ≥ W1 and Corg ≥ 3 %.
