Abstract

The number of young people with inadequate eating behaviors and dissatisfaction with body image is increasing, which increases the risk of developing eating disorders, with an ever earlier onset. Among the eating disorders most described in the literature are nervous anorexia, nervous bulimia, binge eating disorder and the more recent, nervous ortorexia. Therefore, this present systematic review aims at analyzing the productions that approach eating disorders in Brazilian students, and also to identify those who have carried out intervention or orientation actions for such population. The journals were found through Bireme search portal, using the keywords “eating disorders” and “students”, analyzing only full-text productions in Portuguese published in the last five years. It was possible to notice that, in the current Brazilian literature, there are no scientific studies that carry out intervention and orientation actions regarding eating disorders with Brazilian students, and only a few of the studies found mention its importance. This result reinforces the need for studies that make possible the accomplishment of actions for nutritional orientation, about risk factors that can trigger different types of eating disorders in the young population.
