Abstract

In this paper, we focus on phase-only correlation-based image matching, which is often used for biometrics image retrieval. Although systems using phase-only correlation of images allow us to have image matching results of high quality, it takes long time to process phase-only correlation-based image matching especially when there are a large number of images to be processed in the matching. In this paper, we propose an approximate matching preprocessing for pruning images that do not have to be matched to a query image. An empirical study shows the superiority of our proposal.
