Abstract

—Design patterns have become a vital solution for a number of problems in software engineering. In this paper, we have performed rhythmic analysis of General Video Game Level Generation (GVG-LG) framework and have discerned 23 common design patterns. In addition, we have segregated the identified patterns into four unique classes. The categorization is based on the usage of identified patterns in game levels. Our future aim is to employ these patterns as an input for a search based level generator.
