This chapter reviews the principles relevant to assessing musculoskeletal structures in the pediatric patient at the point of care. Normal ultrasound anatomy (joint, cartilage, tendon and enthesis, ligament, capsule) and Doppler activity of pediatric patients will be reviewed. Relevant pediatric sonopathology seen in conditions such as apophysitis, reactive arthritis, and juvenile idiopathic arthritis will also be reviewed.
