Abstract

In this chapter, we describe a novel approach to design multivariable controllersMultivariable controller using single-input single-output theory. This method, based on the Smith-McMillanSmith-McMillan diagonal form of the plant, allows the scalar PID controller design methods, developed in earlier chapters, to be applied to multivariable systemsMultivariable systems, one loop at a time.
