Abstract

In this paper, we propose using Hovering Information in vehicular applications to enhance their ability to deal with the dynamics of environment. In particular, we have designed and developed architecture for vehicular applications that employs Hovering Information, and described how hovering information can be utilized in decision-making module made using fuzzy logic. The system based on Hovering Information takes advantages of both hovering and local information published by other nodes and collected from local sensors respectively. The use of Hovering Information allows obtaining dynamically updated information from surrounding nodes during travel and allows information sharing within an ad-hoc network without network infrastructure. Finally, a simulation of decision-making module based on fuzzy logic that uses hovering information as an input of fuzzy controller, has been presented to demonstrate importance of hovering information in real time applications. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.
