Abstract

The transfer of available techniques from mineral exploration in modified form can decrease the expenditure for investigation and remedial actions of contaminated soils. Thus, the application of mineralogical laws enables the differentiation of geological background from pollution caused by human activities. Further, special preparation and mobilization techniques allow the identification of the carrier phases of the contaminants. Statistical methods are useful in risk assessment and management of cleaning a site. -from Author
