Abstract

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, often inflammatory disorder involving the CNS, that affects approximately 400,000 people in the United States and 2.5 million worldwide (Compston et al., 2006). While the etiology of MS remains very unclear, a growing body of evidence suggests a variety of causes that include genetic vulnerability, environmental exposures, and potentially even psychological factors.
