Abstract

Organizational culture is an important construct in understanding the experiences of individuals in the workplace. Defined as the shared values, beliefs, and expectations among members of an organization (Moran and Volkwein 1992; Spataro 2005), the culture of an organization shapes much of what occurs within it and acts as an informal system of control. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.
