Homeostatic regulation of key metabolites in cancer patients is often dysfunctional or perturbed by the malignancy or its treatment. Cancer and its treatment can also perturb the endocrine systems that regulate organ functions and metabolism. Deficiencies and excesses in electrolytes, metabolites, and hormones are discussed from the practical standpoint of acute clinical management in this chapter. Common etiologies and treatment approaches are also presented.
