This book review examines some recent contributions to the study of the political articulation of cultural diversity (Hooghe et al. 2019; Máiz 2018; Hooghe et al. 2017; Hooghe and Marks 2016; Hooghe et al. 2016). This text analyzes the role played by nations and political communities in these works, examines the politi-cal-institutional alternatives addressed by these authors (federalism, regional authority, multilevel governance, international organizations), and explores the main challenges and constraints faced by these governance models in contemporary democracies.
