Abstract

A critical reconsideration of outcome research in the orthopedic scientific community has been in progress for a few years. With the development of the concepts of quality of life and patient satisfaction, the traditional model of health, considered before to be a lack of disease, has now changed to the more representative complete physical and psychic well-being condition, formulated by The World Health Organization in 1948. © 2007 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
