Abstract

The pension system for the population of the 27 countries of the European Union is based on the fact that today’s population pays pensions to those who have retired. It can hold up well only in several ways: either by an increase in the retirement age or by the creation of a private savings system. The article analyzes the state of various pension reforms in the world, including in Slovakia.
