Abstract

Amygdaloid lesioned rats were compared to cortically lesioned and normal rats in their level of shock-induced fighting behavior. The resultant fighting scores, as rated on a four point scale, showed no significant difference in aggressive behavior on the part of the amygdalectomized group as compared to the cortical and normal control groups. Theoretical explanations of the results are proposed. © 1968, Psychonomic Journals. All rights reserved.
