Abstract

Chronic pelvic pain in women is described as a continuous or intermittent pain, in the lower abdominal area and pelvis for at least 6 months, not associated with the menstrual cycle or sexual intercourse. Stress in women who is living with chronic pain leads to drop in quality of life and sexual dysfunction. Dealing with the pain and treatment of pain there need to be a holistic approach and nurses are the indispensible part of this team. In this compilation, definition of chronic pelvic pain, its pathophysiology, effects on women, the role and responsibilities of nurses have been mentioned.
