Abstract

CT scanning, through the use of modern integrated PET/CT and SPECT/CT systems, is rapidly becoming an important adjunctive diagnostic tool for use in radioisotope imaging investigations. This chapter aims to provide a basic knowledge of the current CT technology and a brief overview of the common parameters that affect the CT image quality, with a view to show how scan protocols can be optimised.
