Abstract

In this article the author discusses various subjects ranging from health care to cell phone obsession. Topics discussed include the economic and social aspects of the U.S. Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), an article in a 2012 issue of "Newsweek" magazine by Gary Taubes on the U.S. campaign to prevent childhood obesity, and the approval of a drug application for lorcaserin hydrochloride by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
