Abstract

'Hyperactivity' has many causes in childhood, and an analytical approach is necessary before management can be applied. In order to be effective, management must be individually tailored. It may take the form of simple adjustments in the child's environment, the treatment of physical illness, emotional support, counselling of parents, or, in selected cases, drug therapy.
