Abstract

A major difficulty with the topic of future factories or offices is that the mind usually grasps it visually, as a static picture at a specific time—the year 2000 has been popular. This conceptual limitation is significant in debates and planning regarding new technological possibilities and new opportunities and problems for people at work.
