The patient was identified in the preoperative holding area where the involved extremity was marked. He/she was brought to the operating room and underwent endotracheal general anesthesia. IV antibiotics were given. The patient was placed in the beach chair position and all pressure points carefully padded. The shoulder was prepped and draped and all landmarks were carefully outlined with a marking pen.
