Abstract

This article describes the construction and operation of fluidic and pneumatic devices in current use, as well as the principles of their use in medical devices. The designs for an automatic blood pressure cuff inflator, a blood pump and a high performance ventilator are presented. © 1977 Canadian Anesthesiologists.
