One important factor in determining the pump to be used in a system is the head. At PT. XY there is a water intake pump that is used to extract river water which will be processed through a self cleaning filter so that the turbidity of the water before entering the process is further reduced. The problem that occurs in PT. XY is that there is a pressure loss of 0.7 [bar] from the pump discharge to the inlet self cleaning filter because of the influence of distance & fitting on the piping system. To solve this problem, it is necessary to analyze the minimum water intake pump head with three different methods, namely Hazen-William, Darcy-Weisbach, and De Chezy-Manning. From the results of calculations and analysis of method, Hazen-William has the smallest error of 6.2% and the minimum pressure of the pump to pass self cleaning filter is 4.2 [bar].
