Abstract

At present, it is necessary to make rational and efficient use of electrical energy, seeking to reduce the intensity of its use, improve energy efficiency in consumer sectors, promote non-conventional sources of energy, as well as use new technologies for generation, transportation and distribution. In this context, the objective of the article is to present the validation of a digital educational resource designed to teach the rational use of electrical energy in Colombian rural communities. The research is of a quasi-experimental type and used descriptive statistics to determine the variation in the academic performance of the students, before and after using the didactic resource. The resource was validated with 39 sixth grade students. The results show that the average performance of the students in the initial test was 2.9, while in the final test it was 4.2, that is, a significant difference was obtained in academic performance after applying the resource. digital. It is concluded that the use of the evaluated resource was effective to promote the rational use of electrical energy, as well as for teaching concepts related to electrical energy.
