Abstract

Tetraripis zetteli sp.n. is described from southwestern Thailand. Additional records and descriptive notes are given for T. ravana (Kirkaldy), T. asymmetricus J. Polhemus & Karunaratne, and Chenevelia stridulans Zettel. A critical assessment of the generic classification of the subfamily Rhagoveliinae is presented. On basis of shared, unique pretarsal modifications, it is concluded that the Oriental genera Chenevelia Zettel and Tetraripis Lundblad, together with the species-rich, world-wide distributed genus Rhagovelia Mayr, belong in the monophyletic subfamily Rhagoveliinae.
