Open access movement has resulted in a change of the entire scholarly communication environment. Scholarly information service system (SISS) had a significant change which is represented in the emergency of various open access publishing mode and diversification of integrated valueadded service providers. This paper analyzed this change, and discussed how academic library should react to the change; also some possible impacts on scientific communication were discussed. © 2007 by International Federation for Information Processing.
