Slowly increasing doses of L-3-4-dihydroxyphenylalanine induced partial improvement of some manifestations in 28 Ss with parkinsonsim. Mental effects included enhanced interest, improved memory, transitory sleeplessness and nervousness. Neurological side effects consisted of fleeting to severe involuntary movement.
