This article reports the results of the evaluation process of a design method that aims to support students to design based on predetermined emotions. The method is supported by two tools that provide detailed knowledge of particular emotions. These tools are structured from the cognitive theory of emotions, which states that these are caused by the assessment of events and situations. To meet the objective of this study, 54 design students implemented the method and its tools. This method was evaluated through a mixed research approach, that is, through qualitative and quantitative data. The results indicate that the method and the tools are useful for students to complete a design task based on predetermined emotions.
