Abstract

An investigation was undertaken to determine the effect of system pressure on jet penetration in fluidied beds. The study was conducted in a 0. 305 m semicircular, transparent column fitted with a 2. 54 cm diameter nozzle over a pressure range of 345-5171 kPa. System pressure was found to increase jet penetration significantly more than existing correlations predict.
