Abstract

ABSTRACT A colostomy is a surgical procedure to open the large intestine (colon) to the anterior abdominal wall. The end or end of the large intestine that is removed from the abdomen is referred to as a stoma or it can also be interpreted as a malignancy originating from the large intestine tissue, which consists of the colon/ or rectum. To examine the effect of self-care education on quality of life in patient with ostomate. The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental approach with a pre-test post-test approach without a control group. The sampling technique in this research was a total sampling technique with a total of 11 respondents, the research instrument using the WHOQOL-BREF Questionnaire. The statistical test used in this study was univariate and bivariate using the paired sample t test. The results of the test of differences in the value of Ostomate's quality of life before and after being given Self Care education using a paired sample t test obtained a p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05) which means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of providing self-education. Care for the quality of life of ostomates at Wocare Center Bogor. The influence of self-care education on the quality of life of ostomates before and after being given education, the ostomates are expected to know the quality of life and improve their quality of life. Keywords: Colorectum Cancer, Self-Care Education, Stoma, Quality Of Life ABSTRAK Kolostomi merupakan tindakan pembedahan untuk membuka jalan usus besar (kolon) ke dinding abdomen anterior. Akhir atau ujung dari usus besar yang dikeluarkan pada abdomen disebut sebagai stoma atau dapat juga diartikan sebagi keganasan yang berasal dari jaringan usus besar,yang terdiri dari kolon /atau rektum. Untuk mengidentifikasi bagaimana pengaruh edukasi self care terhadap kualitas hidup ostomate. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan pre test post- test tanpa kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengambilan sample pada penilitian ini adalah teknik total sampling dengan jumlah 11 responden, instrument penelitian ini menggunakan Kuesioner WHOQOL-BREF. Uji statistic yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah univariat dan bivariat menggunakan  uji paired sample t test. Hasil uji perbedaan nilai kualitas hidup Ostomate sebelum dan sesudah diberikan edukasi Self Care dengan menggunakan paired sample t test diperoleh p-value sebesar 0,000 (p<0,05) yang berarti Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pemberian edukasi Self Care terhadap kualitas hidup ostomate di Wocare Center Bogor. Adanya pengaruh edukasi selfcare terhadap kualitas hidup  ostomate sebelum dan sesudah diberikan edukasi, pada ostomate diharapkan dapat mengetahui kualitas hidupnya dan meningkatkan kualitas hidupnya. Kata Kunci: Kanker Kolorektal, Edukasi Self Care, Stoma, Kualitas Hidup
